Your TOP Choice for Pediatric Care
Dear TOP patients and families, our office will be making some changes to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and protect each other.
1. CORONA VIRUS TESTING
Testing is not readily available at this time.
if you desire to test, you will need to contact your local county health department.
Drive through testing may be available son.
once TOP can test for the Coronavirus, we can do so on a case by case basis.
2. YOUR VISIT TO OUR OFFICE
Please call ahead or check your email for specific information for the day.
We ask you to remain in your vehicle until we contact you that it is time for your appointment.
We request only a limited number of adults per visit.
We want as little contact between patients as possible.
All toys and magazines have been removed from the office to prevent contamination.
Please use hand sanitizer before and after your visit.
3. CORONA VIRUS ILLNESS IN CHILDREN
Usually mild cold-like symptoms.
Risk is for transmission from child to older parents or grandparents, or others with underlying health issues.
4. CORONA VIRUS TREATMENT
There is currently no approved treatment for children.
Disease is usually a mild cold-like illness with cough, runny nose, and fever.
Please do not seek emergency room care for a mild illness as you may have contact with potentially sicker patients and increase your chances of exposure.
Please seek emergency treatment or call us if your child is having respiratory difficulty or has underlying health issues.
5. SCHOOL CLOSINGS
Please try to find educational activities for your children at home, consider board games and card games. Some of my favorites are ghost Blitz, Trivial Pursuit, and UNO
Children are allowed to play outside as normal at their residence.
This is not an excuse for unlimited Paw Patrol or Tik Tok.
Encourage reading and music. I enjoy The Giving Tree, Wrinkle in Time, Call of the Wild, an Where the Sidewalk Ends.
Exercise ideas are available on most smartphones. Try jump rope, hopscotch, or a game of catch!
TOP regrets any inconvenience this may cause for your visit, but we hope to continue the honor of being your health care provider and continue to provide high-quality care for the entire community.
